Friends of the Earth Edinburgh invited the public to “Give Keith Brown the boot” with an enormous papier-mâché boot. The environmental group carried out this entertaining walking-themed stunt in response to the government’s planned severe 33% cut to investment in active travel (walking and cycling).

About Us

Friends of the Earth Edinburgh (FoEE) is a local group that campaigns on environmental issues affecting Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. In broad terms, we have two main objectives:

  • to support our national organisation, Friends of the Earth Scotland, in its promotion of sustainable development and environmental justice;
  • to promote environmental protection and enhancement in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

Although we are affiliated with Friends of the Earth Scotland (FoES), we have our own committee and choose and run our own campaigns, based on issues relevant to the Edinburgh area.

The group is run by volunteers and is open to anyone who wants to get involved. If you would like to get involved with campaigning for environmental issues that affect Edinburgh, please join us. To join our group, Friends of the Earth Edinburgh, it is not necessary to be a member of FoES.

However, to run campaigns, vote at our general meetings, or stand for the our committee, you must be a member of both FoEE and FoES.
